The RICS Inclusive Environment Consultants Scheme (IECS) is designed for experienced property professionals who wish to work in the inclusive environment sector. The route to membership is based on a rigorous assessment process that includes specialist training followed by examinations, practical experience and a panel interview.
A guide to becoming a member is available to download from the right hand menu.
There are two routes to membership for the RICS Inclusive Environment Consultants Scheme:
1. Standard route to membership
Candidates who have little or no experience or qualifications relating to inclusive environments must take a training course and pass the Certificate in Inclusive Environments before applying to an interview panel for final assessment.
2. Experienced route to membership
Candidates who can demonstrate significant relevant skills in the inclusive environment sector may be directed to the examination or panel interview stage without taking the training requirement, providing they have either:
- Minimum of 10 years experience working in Inclusive Environments
- Postgraduate qualification in Inclusive Environments
All candidates must complete an application form. RICS will review the application and advise the candidate of the appropriate route to membership.
