RICS Hong Kong organized a press conference on 5 June 2008 to announce a research report titled 'Industrial Buildings – Strategic Review of Issues Associated with conversion of for Adaptive Re-use' recently produced and submitted to the Hong Kong SAR Government.

Due to a large scale of vacant industrial buildings found in Hong Kong, the Government is currently looking for ways to revitalize industrial areas.

In view of the urgent need of change of land use in those areas, RICS Hong Kong has taken the initiative to conduct a study of industrial buildings in eight districts to come up with some practical recommendations for the Development Bureau, HKSAR.
