David Linnell has succeeded Nick Navas as chairman of RICS Beds and Herts local association. 

Upon taking up his appointment David thanked Nick for all his work in getting the local committee and events programme up and running again.  It is now David’s intention to build on the sound base that Nick has been established.

Meetings currently attract an average attendance of about 20 members and David intends to improve on that over the coming year, with the strong programme of events that has been arranged, each with some leading speakers.

The remit is always to make the talks practical and relevant to members work and the talks are always followed by question and answer sessions so that members can maximise on their direct benefit.

David said: “Over the course of the year I  hope to develop networking opportunities at the events.  Having been an active member in the local area for 30 years I have benefited from friendships that I have developed through the RICS local meetings. They have helped me a great deal in my work, especially when I need to recommend surveyors with other specialisms to clients. It would be nice for other local members to benefit in the same way that I have.” 

New members have offered to join the committee to help come up with ideas and organise events.  New offers are invited and are always welcome, as are any ideas or suggestions members may have for future events that will assist them with their work.
