Workshop overview
Buildings produce at least 40% of the carbon emissions globally and 45% in the UK, according to government figures.

Yet the UK Government has pledged to reduce carbon emissions from 1990 levels by 12.5% by 2020 and a massive 60% by 2050.

The implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, the European legislation which made the introduction of Energy Performance Certificates mandatory across the EU marks a major change in the way that property is viewed by prospective owners or tenants with a buildings notional energy performance explicitly available before they make the purchase or lease decision.

Accompanying the EPCs will be recommendations or advisory reports detailing how the energy performance of a building can be upgraded, by either improvements or by changes in the way it is used by the occupants. But what does all this mean to surveyors and their clients.

Zero carbon, ground source heat pumps, photo voltaics; whilst these terms are becoming increasingly commonly heard, in particular when talking about energy performance certificates, what do they all mean?

Who should attend

The conference is aimed at Building Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors, Commercial Property Managers, Commercial EPC assessors and Facility Managers.
