The skills and competencies of programme managers

The changes in business environments bring about intense pressure to the managers to think and rethink, search and research, view and review the skills and competencies to put them at the top of their demanding jobs.

The evolution and maturity of project management concepts attracted significant research interests and wide range application from the construction to IT and production industries. Programme management is now a widely used approach to bring about planned strategic changes or manage a group of projects effectively.

It is similar to any other management approach and to fully understand the intricacies and realise the full benefits of programme management, certain critical success factors (CSFs) have to be achieved. Of much significance are the quintessential factors of management skills and competencies.
