RICS submitted evidence to the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) on 25 April 2008.
The background to the RICS submission on these matters is our concern to see continued action to address the long term shortage of skilled professionals in the construction industry (those workers categorised under tier 2 of the new regime).
Unless these issues are addressed, the Government will be unable to meet its targets for housing (3 million new homes by 2020), for improving the rail network (£15 billion investment over the next five years), and for delivering the 2012 Olympics on time and on budget.
