The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) is the leading global provider of alternative dispute resolution services, helping resolve disputes in areas relating to land, property and construction.

RICS DRS is backed by the experience and expertise of the RICS, which has been operating in dispute resolution services for the past 20 years.

RICS has 140 000 members globally and represents, regulates and promotes the work of property professionals throughout 146 countries.

It is an independent, non-profit making organisation committed to acting in the public interest and providing impartial, authoritative advice on major issues affecting business and society.

RICS DRS Australia was launched in Queensland in March 2005, in response to becoming registered as an Authorised Nominating Authority (ANA) under the Building and Construction Industry Payment Act, which came into effect on 1 October 2004.

Hand in hand with the Queensland Building Services Authority, RICS DRS is helping work towards becoming the ‘Smart State’ leader in creating an environment that avoids disputes and where everyone gets paid.

RICS DRS is investigating supporting the adjudication process in other Australian states and by the very nature of dispute resolution, aims to offer additional dispute resolution services in the future.
