The RICS Scotland Dispute Resolution Service incorporates methods of resolving disputes by Arbitration, Mediation, Adjudication and Expert Determination.

The RICS Scotland Dispute Resolution Service receive around 400 applications per year for appointment of an Arbiter/Expert Witness/Adjudicator/Mediator.
The majority of these are rent review disputes and cover property such as retail, industrial and office amongst others. The remainder of the applications tend to be construction/building related disputes.

A database of information is held to assist the Chairman of RICS Scotland in making an appropriate appointment and information on suitable appointees is regularly updated.

RICS Scotland Dispute Resolution Service produce a list of Experts. These are not exhaustive lists of all those capable of acting as an expert, but they are RICS Scotland approved lists from which the Chairman may appoint.
