The use of mediation in Scotland is growing in a variety of fields. Catalyst Mediation has panel members who cover a wide range of areas of expertise. A recent presentation to RICS Scotland rural faculty members explained how mediation could be relevant to individuals and businesses in the rural economy. This presentation will look at its use in a wider context.

While the type of mediation practised by Catalyst is facilitative, we recognise that other means of resolving disputes through the use of a third party are also applied successfully.

The presentation will be delivered under the following headings:

  • An overview and introduction to mediation
  • Mediation: a hard day’s negotiation
  • The mediators: selecting a mix of relevant experience
  • Their role: facilitation to evaluation
  • Your choice: what the mediators do

Further information together with booking form and venue maps is available from the Lunchtime LLL Series page or contact Events Scotland events-scotland@rics.org or t +44 (0)131 240 0895.
