The use of mediation in Scotland is growing in a variety of fields. Catalyst Mediation has panel members who cover a wide range of areas of expertise. A recent presentation to RICS Scotland rural faculty members explained how mediation could be relevant to individuals and businesses in the rural economy. This presentation will look at its use in a wider context.
While the type of mediation practised by Catalyst is facilitative, we recognise that other means of resolving disputes through the use of a third party are also applied successfully.
The presentation will be delivered under the following headings:
- An overview and introduction to mediation
- Mediation: a hard day’s negotiation
- The mediators: selecting a mix of relevant experience
- Their role: facilitation to evaluation
- Your choice: what the mediators do
