RICS Royal Crest

Why use an RICS member

Wherever you see the RICS mark, you know you can rely on it.

The chartered or technical surveyor designations (the letters after a member’s name), the words 'Regulated by RICS' (when used by a firm), and the presence of the RICS logo, are all there for a good reason. They are your reassurance that you are using a fully-qualified property professional or business, working to the highest standards of competence, and committed to following RICS' rules and regulations.

In essence the RICS mark is the mark of property professionalism – the mark you can trust.

  • RICS members are qualified and experienced professionals offering independent and impartial advice
  • The advice you receive will be of the highest and most professional standard possible
  • RICS requires all its members to update and enhance their skills, knowledge and competence throughout their working life – and they have to prove it
  • RICS members follow strict Rules of Conduct, which regulate how they deal with you, as their client, and how they deal with your money
  • RICS protects consumers through a formal complaints handling procedure

"Our clients in Europe and Asia take comfort in the knowledge that they are dealing with RICS-credentialed, real estate professionals.  They place significant importance on ethics, standards and our understanding of both national and international matters that can impact a real estate transaction."
